Brian’s favorite film is Darren Aronofsky’s psychological thriller ‘Black Swan’ Starring Natalie Portman as the Black Swan, a breathtaking story that takes you through a journey of a ballerina’s struggles on her path to becoming the Swan Queen. The film is shot primarily on Super 16mm to heighten the perspective of the protagonist, was also an early adopter of using DSLR technology.

Ty’s favorite film is ‘The Social Network’ Written by Aaron Sorkin and Directed by David Fincher. For him, the cinematography perfectly compliments the storyline, driven by masterful dialogue. He considers the Henley Royal Regatta Boat Race scene one of the best in cinema. When asked how many times he has watched the film, Ty chuckled and walked away.

Alex Elin’s favorite film is ‘Gladiator’, Directed by Ridley Scott and starring an epic rivalry between Russel Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix. Alex (also a Spaniard) wonders how watching this gut-wrenchingly beautiful film over twenty times could have lasting traumatic effects, but it all seems to be working out just fine. His favorite technical choice in the film is John Mathieson’s use of different frame rates during battle scenes to accurately convey the adrenaline rush mid-fight.
